This Strategy provides a focus for the knowledge, ideas and priorities of the key players in the production of the Scottish Borders unique events programme. Led by Scottish Borders Council, with the combined input of EventScotland, VisitScotland Borders, Scottish Enterprise Borders, Forestry Commission Scotland and members of the Scottish Borders Event Forum, the Strategy highlights the strengths & opportunities of the area and promotes its reputation as an event host & venue. The project aims to support and develop existing events as well as attracting new ones that reflect the area's unique culture, landscape and heritage. The strength of the partnerships developed by this Strategy has already borne fruit in collaborations such as the feasibility study for an IRB World Sevens event in Melrose.

The hundreds of smaller events organisers by local volunteers do not go unnoticed as the Strategy continues to support the organisers. SBC's new information pack for event organisers is proving a real success. The pack, which is called "Eventful", offers information on all aspects of event management including legalities, safety, insurance, marketing, press coverage and finances.
